I stated earlier that being late was not the issue, being late with no communication here is. As long as the late shippers (myself included) give updates I don't think the recipients get to concerned. So with that being said every body can relax and build the best bow they can.

stiks thats some calming advice. while i am trying to get her done , i dont want to rush things , nor want anyone else to rush something like this. take yer time , do it right.

Do you ever have trouble getting a spot to move while tillering?

I have scraped and measured, scraped and measured, marked and scraped.......and I just can't get that upper limb to bend better!

I'm using my gizmo, and I'm measuring 10" from center on both limbs and the lower limb is bending about 1/4" more than the upper limb.

I'm excersizing the bow 25-30 pulls between scraping and the tree.

I came in for a break and maybe some advice.

As soon as I asked for help the limb started showing improvement.

As soon as I asked for advice the limb started bending better. I think I'm done. It's a little over a lb of being at target wieght.

Looks like the right limb could bend a little more near the tip. What do you all think?

Looking at the picture again I definitely see a flat spot. But the horn is getting kind of thin there.

Bona,

Stop working it on the tree. Get some shots of it in your hand. I bet it looks pretty good like that. Shoot it and make sure it feels good in the hand and then shoot her in. It looks great. Can't wait to see the finished pics.

I shot her some tonight and she seems to shoot pretty good to me.

I will get some pics of her drawn by hand. And get her shot in soon.

Seeing the creation by 4est, osage tree & b.glass I'm starting to feel pretty happy with the fact that I'm still waiting

You guys are making beautiful bows!
I'm totally jealous though....the ONLY roadkill snakes I ever find is completely minced up. Been keeping an eye out for a nice big puffadder on the local roads for almost 2 years now.

The trick to finding a good road kill snake is swerving to avoid the snake just right so you, unfortunately,

just don't make it and only the head gets caught under the tires. Damned shame really as we try hard to look out for all the little critters.

as for snakes , my old man tells me that "down home" there is a tree (he thinks sycamore) that in the heat of summer will have over 100 snakes hanging in it (aybe he said cypress)... anyways , we hunt down there , so you better believe ill be getting some skins come deer season...

got a half a day today from 2-5 so i going to go out and get some "me time" in with the bow and get her really moving.
