I now suffer from "free-time-envy". I cannot wait to start my tradebow, but all this beginning of year thingys are getting in the way.

Johan,

South Africa? Wow, you're a long ways off. Bet there's some exiting game for you to hunt there!
I sold my compound bow to someone in South Africa years ago,,, don't miss it at all.

I bet you not only watch out for dangerous game but the people too. Stay alert my friend!

I'm glad to hear at least a few of y'all chime in about barely having time to think about this too much yet.  Especially when so many seem like they'll be done before the end of January.

Between three kids with homework and such, a house under constant renovation, two working adults (one of which is starting to lose her mind from the whole renovation thing after 7 years...) I was hoping to get a good start on it sometime in March.  Break the first one in April, second one in May, and have a shootable one sometime in late June.

As it is, my middle daughter has been shooting the hickory recurve I made her around Christmas roughed out and unfinished.  I need to get it sealed up before it gets to the point where it needs to be started over again.

<----Not adding that before or after you pics. If you copy and past from photo bucket the bottom  line that has this code in it for you you dont have to type that piece of code. The brackets plus IMG first and the brackets slash IMG go at the end of the PIC location code.

lookin good h8non .

im with canopy. i thought i would have some free time , but an impromptu argument last night between the wife and the inlaws means that i have got to find us a new place. chances are it wont be a house like we have been looking for...

the red oak im working on now might get put on the back burner for a little while till i get a framesaw made up  , and cut a back for it.

Chris- On photobucket just move your mouse over the pic and when the menu drops down, go to the last option and left click on it. It will briefly say "copied" then come over here and past that link by doing a right click and chosing "paste" in the menu. It's that simple.
Then your pic will appear in the post and not just the link. I think the problem is your trying to just post the link option and not the actual pic. The last option in the menu that drops down from the pic is the one you want to left click on.

I've got a few more pics from last night. We worked until 2am watching the snow fall. We got about eight inches thus far and its still snowing. Thant mean another full day in the shop with the stove burning. I worked down a few and roughed out enough that between the two of us we have the hot box filled with bow blanks. Now I just have to pick a few for this swap. We would have probably kept on going if the bow gods hadnt decided to give us a clear reason the go to bed. Chris broke his drawknife in half. I'd never even heard of something like that happening.

Well that is a few blanks might keep you busy for a day or two

OK here we go it is Osage with Cheery bark backing, this bow does not even compare to my recipient but I feel it isn't that bad, even though it came in a little low in weight. They wanted 45@26 on the low side and came in at 43@26. I am going to include a little something as a surprise. I hope you like the pics.

Ranger, Did you just pull that off the rack or what?   ;)

If I had time to build'em that quick I wouldn't have a bow wood tree growing for at least a 20 mile radius LOL and I would have to add onto my man cave   :bigsmyl:

Looks Great, to bad you didn't get my name. I know because of the draw length.
