Don't know how I missed this one.  Great job as usual Trux.  Bet someone is going to be real happy very soon.

Beautiful work!!!! Really like that wood combo.

Love the combinations on your handle.... which I have a question on... does adding anywood to the handle as you did, add anything to the overall strength of the bow/riser to prevent failure?

A lovely "custom" bow...

Much Aloha...  :archer2:

The pieces I added to the belly of the riser don't add any real strength (just give me extra material for the grip)- the glass through the center of the riser and the overlays on the front is where the added strength is built in.
This is a Kenny M template- it is a very nice design.

After a week of travel- I finally got back to the bow. I got it bending the way I wanted and put some finish on it- the colors in the riser really came to life. Now to give it a few more coats, build a string-shoot it some and then in the mail for his x-mas tree.

Here are some shots with the wet finish.

WOW.  so good!!   i am curious about the numbers with the pw lam and tip wedges.  kenny's got a good design but i bet the changes will be great.

I won't get any numbers on this bow- I started adding p-lams and tip wedges with this design on the second bow. There was a marked improvement in performance over the first one (almost 20fps) I think the numbers went from approx. 158 with the first bow to 178 on the second bow. Those bows were both 45#s- this one is 55#s and really spits the arrows out.

kennym

Wow that is a jump!! I may have to play with a longer p-lam!!

Really nice bow there!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Well here it is with the finish dry. Next step is to shoot it some tonight when I get home and then ship it off for a surprise x-mas present.
