I have some old barn wood made of native oak and cherry.  My question is:  can you make a board bow out of old barn wood?  Has anyone ever done it or tried?  Is there anything I need to look for in particular to make this project fly, if its doable?  Thanks

It would surprise me if it works but give it a try.  Be really careful when bending it though.

All the rules of board selection apply.

Check for bug damage... I know termites can be an issue looking for a long enough board.  Made some photo frames from some barn wood and had a tough time finding even a 30" piece.

I'm a little skeptical about it, but I have a ton and thought I might be able to use it.  Thanks for all the advice thus far.

I've never used it but I've heard good reports,  particularly for arrows, provided the wood is in good condition. I've made bows from 30+ year old red oak boards. Jawge
