Well I took it to a shoot the other day and it shoots great.

I'm not sure if the tiller is spot on but it looks pretty close to me. The hoopdee doos make it tuff to tiller for sure. You guys tell me what you think of the tiller. I took pics of the left and right side cause of the hoopdee's and character in it.

She finished out at 62.5 ntn 51# @ 28" I was shooting for 50# but I think I can live with it LOL

Tell me what you think guys.

Nice. I think it will survive as is and sometimes we live with good enough on character bows.  But if you want to do anything on it, give it a few scrapes outer half on the bottom and then maybe a few inner half on the top.  You might have to weaken the top a bit more to catch up with the bottom.
Take a kid hunting!

Thanks Guys.

John I was thinking the same as you and might give it a few more swipes and call it good. I think i'll shoot it a little more and see where she settles in at but I think it will still need it.

looks great stiks. im in agreement that the top limb might need a few swipes if it doesnt even out after shooting it a bit. excellent job.

Well I shot it some more and decided to give a few more scrapes. I hit it about 5 or 6 swipes on the tip half of the lower limb and about 11 or 12 on the fade half of the upper limb and she looks better and still shoots great.

I am gonna call it done and get me some flint head arrows finished up for deer season and see if she's got any mojo. I think I am gonna name her "One Eye" for the hole in the bottom limb.

Nice job Kris. That's a very nice piece of wood. I'm always amazed how you guys do these character bows. I'm already struggling when it comes to tiller a straight one. That's why I do glass bows, they are much easier to build... hahaha !

Nice job. Good work on the tips.

and thanks to John Scifres for giving the tilering advice.

Stiks-n-Strings

Yeah I agree thanks to John for tillering advice.

I shot it a little more after that and did dececide to hit a few more swipes. I thought it was shooting good before but after I hit again where John reccomended and it shoots alot better.

It finished in at 48 lbs @ 28". I ordered some tonkin cane shafts and have a few flint heads that Bill skinner made me and plan to make meat with her this fall. I will post a finished pic of her later at full draw.

The tips are layered leather soaked in ca glue to harden them, I thought it was nice touch.

Andy, hows your boo bow I built holding up? Hope she's still shooting good. That was actually my first shooter that I finished so I hope she's a good one. Maybe next year you'll get drawn for one of these character bows in the trade.

That was my original plan for it but I trashed the one I was working on and went with a safer plan to get you bow by the deadline.
