rawhide backing

I had lifted a splinter on my bamboo backed ipe bow (1/2" wide 7" long on the bamboo) while tillering it so I backed most of the limb with rawhide. How long do I have to let the rawhide dry before continuing to work the bow?

Jacobian, I don't know if I've ever seen anyone put rawhide on boo...
I'd say several good hot days on drying time, but a week would be better.

I have a Vinson Minor Cane Dragon that lifted a splinter and Vinson rawhide backed it. That was probably 8 years ago and even though I don't shoot it much anymore It has never shown any signs of lifting again.
What glue did you use for the raw hide?  Like Joe said at least 3 days but a week is better, and in the A/C is preferable. Drier!

Thanks guys,the bow has been drying for about 5 days now. Getting anxious to see how its going to come out. I know the Cane Dragon bow and have shot one. What a sweet shooting bow. In fact I took a bow building class from Vinson when he was in NC. Glad to hear the rawhide held up so long, makes me feel better about my situation. I used TB3 and have the A/C on. Thanks Ed
