I have been cutting up a bunch of bamboo for backing today and had a good bit of scrap left over.

When I am gluing up a BBO I use my scrap bamboo to make form fitting pads for my C-clamps. I have been using these pads for years but never mentioned them on the bow making sites. They work real well and give a good distribution of pressure across the bamboo.

I flatten the backs of the pads a little on my belt sander so my C-clamps won't slide around like they do on the convex back of a strip of bamboo.

Another fine idea Eric.

I was just using the tillering gizmo you sent me - thanks again for the tool and the quality craftsmanship you applied to such a simple and functional piece of gear. A well made tool like that inspires me to do better work.

That's a good idea.  Thanks.

Very cool Idea, Eric. I was just adding a small handle riser to a somewhat rounded bow belly and remembered I had some scrap boo in my shop. I made 4 blocks that did just what I wanted them to do when clamped. Thanks for the idea, Eric.
I used your gizmo yesterday while tillering a short recurve I was having trouble seeing an even bend on. Thanks again!
