I have been lazy... Again I need to sit down and finish it so I can send it out.

I added the tip overlays and leather packing for the back of the handle yesterday and worked shaping the handle and tips today then put 50 arrows through her. Shoots right where I'm looking. Will do a bit more sanding and shooting then put the skins on her.
Kris, looks like I will make the July 4th deadline if all goes well from here. Thanks for talking me into this.

Glad I talked you into it too Pat. I would say from talking to the recipient of your bow on here and watching his post he will exstatic when it shows up on his door step.

I'm gonna glue mine up today and start tillering in a few days I I should make the deadline as well.

Here are a few more pics from today. I coated the rawhide with TBIII to help prevent the moisture from the skins and glue(coming soon)from sinking into the wood and rawhide.
I put another 25 shots through her today, switching from one limb for another to determine which would be the top limb. She shoots just as well either way. She is pulling(a guess) about 50#+ @26"(my draw) but is tillered out past 28". She spits my 650gr tapered ash arrows with authority and right where I'm looking.

Love the profile Pat.

I appreciate your advice on all the post.  I have learned so much by reading and watching.  I will need your advise on the snakey stave I am working on now.  I will get some pictures posted this weekend.

Okay, here's my trade bow, all finished and ready to roll!  I sure like shooting this bugger.  It's been a fun build and even more fun to take through the woods the last couple of days roving.  Will be shipping it out this week.  If not, then Tuesday of next week.

It's 68" tip to tip, 67" ntn; osage with wenge tip overlays; floppy rest; 2" of resting reflex; took about one inch of set; double  stringer groove on bottom tip; finished with sealer coats of super glue, 4 coats of lacquer followed by one frost coat, then protected with two coats of Birchwood-Casey gunstock wax.

Great looking bow 4est. I got that board bow pretty well done and it's been on the back burner just needs a little sanding and a finish.

Anyway onto the trade bow...

Glued it up today and waiting for it to dry I put 2.5 inches of reflex into it. It looked good on the form so I went with it, Didn't want to over do it. I'll Clean it up on the bandsaw after it dries and get a handle glued on it and get to tillering.

I tapered my Jatoba from 1/2" to 7/16" thick My boo is tapered at 3/32" to a hair under 1/32". From fades to tip it is tapered 1 3/8" to 3/8" nice gradual taper through out so I am figuring it should bend pretty good right off the form and just need some tweeking and weight reduction. We'll see. Hope to have her shooting this weekend or early next week.

I built it with the top limb 1" longer and a 4" handle out to around 7.5-8" fades and a 10.5 power lam, overall 62" tip to tip 61" NTN

It will have black palm accents in the handle and tips. and I think I am gonna go natural on the boo.

Great looking bows everyone!

Wonderful bows gentlemen.  I wish I had that ability, ordering glass and having a recipe to work from is so much easier.

Swissbow

Pat, your bow already looks great, but I bet with the snake skins on it this bow will be absolutely awesome.

4est, that's a sweet looking bow you got there. Nice and clean lines, saweeet !

I bet these bows will make two Trad Gang members very happy.

Well, I got my blank trimmed up today and floor tillered. Gonna throw it on the tiller tree this weekend.

Any of you guys got any advice on tillering jatoba? I've read that if not real careful it will fret so I'm gonna get it bending slow and exercise it plenty. I was thinking about it and figured since I'm building a bow with a 28" draw I will go ahead and tiller it to 29" just to be safe and hopefully keep it from fretting.

My camera is messed up or something so no pics at this point but I will remedy that in a few days.
