I seen a fleshing knife at a store it seemed real similar to a draw knife at 1/4 of the cost. The angle on the blade would have to be changed. Has anybody use them and what would the quality of the steel be?

Osagetree

I like my drawknives beveled or with a convex upper side.  And you're right, the angle of the blade in relation to the handles are important. I don't know how anyone can use the straight blades for anything but scraping off rasp tracks.

A fleshing knife is not the same quality steel as a draw knife. My fleshing knifes can be filed very easy. Would dull quikly.   Mark

Thats great Roy I glad that I not the only one thats struggles. LOL. Now I'm saving for a good draw knife. Sucks being unenjoyed! Lots of time but hard to justify spending of money.

Pac'em out

Twitch, have you looked on **** for a draw knife?  The last time I looked, there was a ton of them on there, going for around $20-25.  Just a thought...
