What do you want to accomplish with your art of bow building? I think a name of the product or organization should define the same. Help us out here with some feedback.

Some tribes:

west indian tribes:
Hupa, Pit River, Achumawi, Tolowa, Karok, Miwok, Nootka, Shasta, Pomo, Wintu, Modoc, Klamath, Chinook, Maidu

Eastern woodlands:
Choktaw, Creek, Potawatomi, Fox, Caddo, Seneca, Kitchawank, Wampanoag, Sauk-Fox, Cherokee

Plains:
Blackfoot, Crow, Nez Perce, Sioux, Cheyenne, Comanche, Kiowa, Dakota

there are many, many more for sure, but these are the ones I know about (all from TBB1-3).

- You might choose something that has to do with the place were you live. 'Missisipy river bows'

-...something that has to do with your name; TL custom bows, TLB, L(angston)C(ustom)B(bows), TL archery.

- Something with animals, like: Cougar custom bows, Lynx archery.

- throw in some latin: Puma concolor Archery, Felidae bows

- Something about your live, Like 'GI BOW'from the former owner of bowstick archery.

hope this helps a bit.

Tyler- If you plan on selling them in a small way, then a name that blends in with the rest is not a problem. If you plan on selling them in a bigger way, than it takes less effort for people to remember your name if you don't sound like everybody else. There are lots of great boyers out there who struggle to be remembered because of a name.
Not that it can't be done, but it takes more effort. Count how many boyers have creek or river in there names.
What's in a Name? Pick a good one and then make the best of it.
Good luck, bigjim

My shop started in Beaver Falls located in Beaver County. My huntin buds stuck me with Beaver Bows. My hunting longbow is called "OLE BILL" after my hero the infamous bowyer Bill Kerner. Looks like one of his too. (Don't tell Bill.)

Roy from Pa

Hey Chuck, I live near Irwin, Pa here. You ever been to a Strictly Sticks Shoot? I know Bill too:)

Teagus

Roy,
Ya call me Chuck, I may not answer, I go by Mike (lol). I'm in Gibsonia now. I was supplying quivers, arrows and youth bows to Claude and Chris at Allegheny Archers till they pulled the plug Thanksgiving (RIP). Was hooked up to Sceaming Eagle till It went south. I shoot a Kerner mountain bow. Last time I shot with Bill was at Penn's Woods.

Roy from Pa

Gezze Mike, ya sound like bad new's:) AA went south, SE went south, and Kerner sold his shop out. LOL..

Ok Mike, ya ever been to a SS shoot? Roy

Hey Tyler,    I'm not surewhat you make most of your bows from. However, the name " Osage Country BowWorks" in a circle around a picture/drawing of an Osage Tree, with a longbow leaning against one side of tree, and a recurve leaning against the other. On the bottom of the circle you could put your city and state.
Afterall, the Osage tree is a prominent wood among bowyers and bow enthusiasts.

Just a thought, Happy Hunting.
Step lightly, and shoot a trad bow.
