Dean's book has lots of helpful bow building info. I consider my copy as one of my best bow building books.  I had to read it a few times to decipher Dean's style of writing but the info within is a valuable resource.

Yes I find myself re-reading things a few times too.

What are your thoughts on the crowned belly vs a flat belly?

Osage loves a curved(radiused) belly. That's usually how I make my osage bows. Other woods like hickory, maple, etc do much better with a flat belly.
