Not easy to repair.Maybe it is impossible to do it.

I am up for any suggestions guys the bow came cheep and as i have no emotional attachment other than wanting it to be a shooter. I was thinking super glue to fill the crack with some doweling maybe would do the trick. Not sure. the bow came with 42# limbs i did string it just to see if it would take the stress and it does but no way am i gonna shoot it.

Thanks, Ben

If the crack line NOT just on the surface ,don't shoot .

Thats what i was afraid of oh well i guess i can use it as a pattern and try to make a new riser. thanks guys for the help.

Jeremy

Looks to me like the crack goes clear through.  You could try to take a syringe and inject as much CA as it'll hold, then clamp it for 24hrs or so.  I'd advise against doweling.

The repair may hold just fine, but it also may blow.

Very thin good quality super glue, will take several applications to fill.

BJP

Should i use the loc tite kind or is there some that may work better.

Shaun

Loc Tite 420 is perfect. I bought some on line by doing a search for suppliers.

BJP

Thanks guys for all the input and help. I will keep you posted on how it turns out.

Loktite 420 for sure.  I have repaired several bows with riser cracks that would open as much as 1/4" when strung that are still shooting 7 years later.  I would highly recommend opening the crack a bit if possible and applying the first layer then quickly clamp and allow to dry.  Then as many applications as the crack will continue to "take".  Good luck.

BJP

Well i super glued the snot out of her and so far so good she shoots, now we will see if she holds. Anyone have an idea what the brace height should be on it. For some reason it seems the string that came with it may be a little short.

Thanks, Ben
