red oak board bow?

I am making 2 red oak board bows for the first time ever making a bow. I am making one 68" and i dont know about the other one. If i make it shorter will it have more draw weight than the 68"?

All other things being equal, yes.  But you can adjust the limb thickness to make your desired weight.  If you havent already, check out one of the best build alongs on here->

i am also building a board bow from red oak and it is a first for me also things are going along fine  just needed some differant tools i will have before the next one  lol.

about half way there need to finish sizing the limbs and rought in the handle and smooth the edges then on to the tiller it will go .

Scott. If not too late leave the handle area square for now. Easier to get the bow to sit on your tillering tree if it is square and it gives you a little room for adjusting the string center. Handle is the last area you need to work, as long as it is not a bend through the handle design.
