I noticed that one of my longbows top limb is "bent" more at brace than my bottom limb.  Is there something wrong here??  I remember in building a few self bows that all of mine were the same.  Help!!  and Thanks

It should be about 1/2in more bent for split finger and even for 3 fingers.

Thanks for answering Jesse!  One question, though.  Can you "unbend" it if you want to.  Or is there a way to get that extra bend out?  Thanks

your options would be to shorten the top limb to stifen it, or weaken the bottom limb.

how does it look at draw?

what stage is the bow in?

jesse, 1/2" sounds too much in my ears, guess 1/4-1/8" would be better. I personally like a slight positive tiller, maybe because I shoot split-finger, but anyways it balances better in my hand. 1/4" is nice, not much more.

in the old days religion had it's use to keep nations together. Today, religion tears nations apart.

i agree with nick. i think 1/4" or 6-8mm should be enough.
in past even the future was better, so what do you want?

I like about 1/4 also, not much more than that.

What I meant was up to 1/2 positive is fine.

Is the bow a self bow or a laminated bow?  Also where you are measuring the difference in limb tiller will have an effect on the balance of the bow.  I assume you are talking about measuring at the end of the fade on a laminated bow.  On a self bow that is not perfectly straight wood the measurement of 1/4 of an inch can be misleading because of the intricacies of the wood. It is a starting point.

as far as unbending.

If it is a FG lam bow you can sand the FG on the belly and the back of the stiffer limb to weaken the limb to bring it in to balance with the other limb.  You also should try and find why it changed.  CRACKS???

If the bow is a self bow.  re tiller the stiffer limb from belly only.
