Hello Guys, I have my bow all glued up Now I need the layout form and the Meserment's of the bow my bow has 2inc wide glass. An 18inc riser.
from the fade out one limb is 26 1/2 and the other is 27 1/2 ( should this be the top limb)
I want to make this as close to a Hill As I can....
Or if some one can send me the Meserment's and a drawing of the bow.. I dont want to make the bow look bad and I know I came to the rite place.....

Thanks for the help guys,

Cody

Longer limb will be on the top Cody. On the one Hill bow (it belonged to a friend of Howard's) that I've examined the handle was off set 1/2" which would make the upper limb 1" longer.

Cody,  the Hills I have owned have all been very narrow and deeper cored.  Mine were around 1 1/16"- 1 1/8" at the widest.

Maybe the Hill bow handles of today are centered but the one I examined was not Joshua. Shelf was 1 1/2" above center. Perhaps a special order, don't really know. My good friend, who owned the bow, was Hill's sells rep. in this area in the 60's. So its probably a 60's model.

They are not centered today either.  My guess is that Craig would lay one up that way if you asked though. He is VERY willing to do whatever to please a customer.

I think I remember the ones I've had have all had the bottom limb 1 1/2" or so shorter.

Sorry guys, I talked to Craig again and you guys are right. I helps the top limb to do more work. I have adjusted my riser form to reflect this. Sorry did not mean to sound like a jerk but a I am hard headed. My wife is on your side!  :)

Here is a Hill style riser based on Craig Ekin designs.

Thanks,
Joshua

I'm confused.  Wouldn't the drawing make the bottom limb longer?  If the center is offset towards the top of the riser?

Sorry to be dense, but this topic has always been tough for me to visualize.
Thanks
Don
