Make them smaller

I had the idea of making a 1/3 scale bow with some scraps one day...the next day I saw a pic of one in the Bowyers bible vol 4, and the very same day Longbowkid posted some very nice miniture osage bows...so i had to give it a try

To start, a 29" form

bjansen

Lams consist of maple with a yellowheart stripe, black glass and a lacewood riser (7.5 inch)

into the oven it goes

Better not skimp on the overlays...

3 coats of Magnalac on top of that...flemish twist string and even a calf hair and leather rest

Due to Lady's small brain and lack of thumbs she will be unable to use this bow

Final specs:  28" ntn, 7.5" riser, heavy! @ 8"

If anyone plans to make one...i suggest total butt thickness of .150 to .165 this one is about .210 which is too heavy

Due to Lady's good looks she gets a bow to match her coat!!  Great job

Well being so heavy it will absolutely blast an ink pen at about a 6 inch draw...but i am scared to pull it back to far...since the limbs are so heavy i fear it will blow up..
