technical question,help...

a hypothetical question,
by making the riser section longer (self long bow) and both limbs the same length, then one could shoot at centre of the bow. is this feasable-practical?
sure would be very easy to tiller, extra riser weight would help, and the bow could just be made a few inches longer.
who has any ideas on this.

I make my bows with the center of the handle in the center of the bow. That gives me limbs of equal length. The arrow pass is about 1"(+/-) above the actual center of the bow.
  Making symmetrical bows allows me to see proper tiller better than making asymmetrical bows. Both limbs bend approximately the same instead of one limb being shorter than the other.    
 I prefer a shorter handle (4" with 1 1/2" fades)and the limbs bending up to or through the handle.   Pat

if i had a non bending handle, then i probably would need to make the riser 8 "( thats if i wanted 4" below the center for a handle?

Yeah, in selfbows, esp.  I believe in symetrical or almost symetrical tiller for the same reason as Pat.

Other than adding a little weight.Like'ly not enough to make it more stable.
