Took this doe exactly one month after getting my Kanati back from Jason.  Ten yard shot with a 55# 54" Kanati and a 600 grain laminated birch arrow and Eclipse head.  Complete pass thru and she fell within sight.  Not the best pic but it was cold, wet and windy.

Well done, Vince! Got to love those close shots, eh!

I'm curious about your arrow set-up: do your lambirch arrows weigh 600 grains total, including the broadhead? It's just that mine weigh 750 grains total, including a 190 grain Ribtek.

Cheers,

Ben

Congratulations on a job well done my NJ neighbor    .  That looks like a huge doe...should keep the freezer in good supply this winter.

Thanks guys.

Ben- They weigh 600 total, they are the 50-55# 5/16
shafts with a 125 grain eclipse cut to 26" bop.  I can't use any heavier head as they would be too weak.  I tried to return your pm last night but your in box is full and thanks for the comment about the elk.

East Coast,

Good shot! I think there is something extra special about filling a tag in the late season. On Jan. 5 I also filled a tag.On the ground at 4.5 yds. To close, but it all worked out.I too was shooting a short bow,a 56" 53# @ 28" Mon River Venom with tapered cedars and Zwickey Eskimos. How do you like your Kanati?I have been looking at them really hard.

East Coast archer

I like it a lot.  Fast, light, points easy, hits where I look and affordable.  This was the second one I got from Jason.  Had a problem with the first one and Jason replaced it.  Got the bow 12/18/07 and took the doe 1/15/08.  There is one in the classifieds.
