Potomac Forge Mountain Man Scalpel- Sheath Photo

Here is my latest project, I forged this small blade from an antique spring harrow tine.  It is a intergal design leaving a little rust texture/forge scale at the Osage orange ferrule and a scrimshawed and stained antler tip.  2 7/8" blade 7 1/2" OAL.

That's awesome.  It would make a great carving knife.  Or maybe a good skinner for a fur trapper.

Great knife, I can see some mountain man lancing an abscessed tooth with that............in his own mouth!        
Definitely looks like it belongs in some tough, bearded dude's possibles bag

I finished the sheath for this project and added a little more scrimshaw.  The sheath is deer rawhide with a brass cone and horse hair. Brass spots and bone beads. The concho is a slice of stained and polished deer antler.
