Here is a set that is a little different than my normal "tacticals". I wanted to make something heavy duty, but with a tribal old school feel. Osage is probably my favorite hard use wood and I think it fits well on these. I gave both the belt knife and hawk tapered tangs, scalloped and scorched the osage and then added bamboo cord wrap for some grip. The hawk is 4140 and the belt knife is 1095. I still need to do sheaths, I haven't totally decided on leather or kydex. I might leave it up to whoever buys them.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think.

I like them both!  Interesting treatment of the Osage, I first thought it was Micarta!

That Hawk has some heft to it and would make short work of any task.

Im loving those type hawks of yours. Is that spoken for? Just wondering as I may have to start putting up a few bucks to get me one. Very, very nice.

Thanks Kevin, I appreciate it!

Thanks Izzy!  This set will be headed to another trad ganger in a couple days. : )
I will be making more hawks, so just let me know what you have in mind.

I like those.  A tapered tang on a hawk - why not?  The scorched osage and the wrap go really well together.  I'm assuming you glue the pins in since they can't be peened like metal pins.  What type of glue/epoxy do you use?

That set right there is on my mind a lot. I'm not too big on the cord wrap, but all other is my ideal. Love the blade shape on the knife.
I really like your work, our dollars are suffering against yours right now, though.
