I know everyone is probably sick of looking at my belt knives, but I wanted to show the set that I will be gifting to a soldier in a couple days.
He has mentioned wanting a tomahawk before, because the issued ones are kinda crap. I know he can't afford one, so I decided to give him one, along with a matching belt knife.
He is getting deployed later this year, and I want him to have the tools he needs to make it home safely. Not trying to toot my own horn here, I just feel it is important to support our troops whenever we can.
Anyway, I won't jabber on anymore, here are a couple pics of the set.

The sheaths are setup with Molle Loks.

Great job on both.  And the sheaths as well.  Always happy to see somebody do something nice for the troops.  What are the dimensions, steel, handle material, etc.?

Very nice Ben, both the gifts and the giver. These should serve him well, very well indeed.

Ben,

Outstanding...The brave ones that fight for our freedom deserve nothing but the best going to and coming from battle. Prayers for his safe return...

Thanks a ton guys, it really is the least I can do to help support our troops.

On a side note, what do you all think of a set of these with textured and toasted osage? It would still be super tough and durable, but have kind of a tactical/traditional look.
Just an idea.

Those looks great Ben.
Osage would be pretty cool........but stag(or elk antler) would be awesome!   :readit:    :D

Stag would be cool, but I don't think I would survive seeing the price of stag that size!!!

I just might be able to help you out with some northern elk slabs(thicker wall than southern elk).......what dimensions for the scales on the hawk? looks to be about 8 inches long by 1.25 wide?

Thanks for the offer Darcy! I don't think I need them now, but I will keep it in mind.

I just gave them to him a little bit ago, to say he was happy is an understatement! Apparently due to budget cuts, they are having to buy a lot of the equipment they normally wouldn't have to, including extra mags! Kinda sad really.
I am glad I was able to help with a least one part of his needed equipment.
