Thanks guys.  I want to try a bigger one sometime next year, maybe 8-9" blade.  I figured I'd start small for my first try at this style.  Even though this is my biggest knife so far, I guess I'd still consider it small for a Bowie.

Ok guys.  Here's the finished knife and sheath.  Still not the best picture, but it looks like it's the best I'll be able to get since this one's headed to a new home this weekend.

Your doing some fine work Matt. I wouldn't even attempt the leather. Good stuff.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Chris.  Working with leather is way different than wood or metal.  Found that out the hard way on my first couple of sheaths.  I looked around online and found a couple of great tutorials and bought a couple of basic leather working tools.  My first one after that was drastically better.  It's amazing what a little instruction and proper tools can do.  I'm getting better but if you were to look at this one up close, you'd see that it is FAR from professional leather work.  Just glad to be starting to get to the point where I can build a sheath that'll compliment the knife rather than just carry it.
