I didn't like the way this blade originally turned out so back into the forge with some extra pounding and grinding.  I don't hesitate to take a perfectly finished, quenched, and tempered blade back into the forge if I'm not completely satisfied with the feel or appearance.

Actually it's kinda fun to see if you can reforge it without ruining it   :knothead:   You do tend to burn a little bit of the edge but very little.  By re-forging a finished knife, I've learned I can grind my regular blade edges to almost sharp before quenching.  That makes the finish grind on a tempered blade very minimal.  Not the way most people do it, but I like to try different techniques...worst that can happen is you throw the blade away.  But it's also how you learn.

I think it will work well as a small meat processor/butcher knife.  AOL 8" with 4" thin tipped blade of 52100 steel...tippit

It is funny, i made a few sketch the other day, I like to sketch knifes, even If I don't make knife, just in case I want one made one day.... And the knife I drew, was really similar, but a lot smaller. I really like that stile of knife, I think they are the best shape for  around camp, processing food, meat etc...

Anyway, that one look great!!

Outstanding knife, Jeff! The blade is very attractive and functional in its design, and the handle sets off the beauty of the entire knife. And the sheath looks good too. I love 52100 steel if it is properly heat treated, and I'm sure yours is.
