One I'm working on for the Little Rock knife show.
The blade has a killer hamon that will not show until I hit the blade with acid, and this mild steel guard gets gun barrel hot-blued.
Didn't want ya'll think I wasn't working 'cause I can only work with nine fingers!!

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

I missed the finger story too! It looks like your work isn't suffering at all Karl. That knife is a beauty!

Very nice Karl, it has kind of a Fowler look to the blade.
I hope your finger is not permanently out of commission?

Suffered a bit of what is called mullet finger.
I had an "incident".
Not the best of situations.

I have to be in a splint for 6+ weeks.
Hard to even tie my shoes, nonetheless make knives.
This, too, will pass.

That is marvelous in all respects.  I love the profile of that blade and the fantastic handle material.  It is spalted maple?

Looks great Karl. Some great knives have been coming out of your shop lately.

I hope it heals soon Karl. I know the feeling, to a degree, today etching and polishing Hamon on a hunter I slipped and cut my index finger to the bone. I spent the rest of the day trying to get the finish done and the guard pressed on nine fIngered.

Mullet Finger. That's what happens when you get too rough combing your hair.

Sorry about your finger Karl. The knife is very nice.   :)
