Looking back 10 years

So much has changed. But its good to reflect from time to time. One of my first knife cutomers got in contact with me and asked me to clean up his knife. It dont need much but I'm glad to do it. Here is the knife. A 10 year old hunter. Just thinking of the changes in methods and the materials as well as the skills needed now to make the stuff I want to make.

Ten years and still looking great. Do you recall what steel and handle material? I know you have made a bunch since but i am curious.

No but it's probably 5160, but I dont know the wood. The guard is German Silver and it is soldered. The owner told me that he skinned a few deer and it's still sharp. I checked it and it will still cut but it can use some touching up. Thanks

When I look back ten years at my knives I mostly gag.......sometimes shudder.  :D   You were doing some nice work back then and you have just kept on improving. Looking forward to seeing your work in another 10 years

You're obviously pushing yourself to more complex work now, but that "old" one sure looks clean - design and workmanship.

I wish I aged that well! Fine knife from a fine smith, that will be around for generations of hunters.

There's not much I could add that others haven't already said better; however, I do want to say that I am very happy to be able to enjoy my knives that you have produced more recently. You certainly were producing great knives 10 years ago, though. I would be very happy to have that knife in my hand today. That said, I'm not trading my newer Rhea knives!!!!!!
