I've posted this before. I'd just like to know if someone new might have a guess. As you can see it very small, the steel is good. I think it came from a yard sale and was given to my son by his grandfather.

It's a good, sharp, little knife. I think it's kinda cool.

Cani see abetter shot of the butt of the knife? That's a new look to me

The writing looks European but its an odd piece for sure

I think the key is getting someone to recognize the language

The wood looks like Kirlian birch(sp) and the writing and knife style remind me of a finnish or Sweaden made knife. The butt end may be an Ice breaker of sorts, Do you have the sheath?

the blade style is very different from Scandinavian knives I have seen.

And the back end does look like a 'glass breaker' sort of addition.

That's why I am leaning toward a homemade knife-someone in the 30-50's who came from the old country, then looked at some of the knives like western cutlery etc and kind of built his own.

The guard- basically a thin piece of straight metal, just looks home made to me.

That doesn't mean its bad- just home made.

After looking at a knife that two tracks found on **** I have to say I think he is right.    There's a Finnish knife on there that would be a first cousin to yours- and the writing yours has certainly looks like Scandinavian so I'd say you should try putting the words into Babblefish- the translator and figure out what it says!
