Made these for a customer. 1095 & 15N20 nickel damascus in a tiger stripe pattern. Handles are stabilized Amboyna burl with white liners and mosaic pins on one ripper and the caper. The other ripper is stabilized and dyed Sycamore with gray liners and mosaic pins. Ripper blades are 6" and OAL is 10-5/8". Caper blade is 2-1/4" and OAL is 6-3/4".

Very nice clean lines, the ripper looks a lot like a scalper. Great work.

I should also say that the smaller knife looks like a winner. I love that blade shape and grind.
I thought they looked like a good scalper as well Charles.

What makes a ripper a ripper? Is it for deboning?

Yep. They use them to break down deer at a processor and use the little caper when skinning out heads for mounting. I just started calling it a ripper blade...no idea why.  :)
