Just got into grinding my own blades using stock removal method. How thin should I grind the edge on a flat ground blade before heat treating? Thanks for your help.

Depends on the size of the knife, the thickness of a nickel for a large one or a dime for a small one.  Just a very basic rule.

The way that I do it it by finding center on the edge with my scribe and then backing off the scribe just a smidgen the I mark two lines one from each side. it usually ends up being about 1/64" - 1/32"...but thats just my way of doing it.

Thanks guys. I guessed pretty close. Just have to do some file work and drill holes for the pins and get them heat treated.

Will do when I get them done. I'll have to  learn how to post pics on this site.
