Nice. Did you stabilize the osage?

this Osage was in storage for about 9 yr. So I did not stablize, it was about 10" wide and 2" thick and 5 ft long
I think it should be ok

Very nice!  I am looking at doing something similar to a couple knives, care to elaborate on the process?

this was a takedown knife, I could not find a antler the right size so I did what I thought look best. The finger guard needed to be thicker and the buttcap just screws on the end. I did put black spacers in the handle.
I took it all apart and resanded the blade, then made the finger guard and buttcap, drilled a hole in a piece of wood then screwed it  all together and shaped the handle. Hope this helps you

That knife in the top picture looks so much like a knife I have from my childhood.  It says Soligen down near the guard and it does have a number but no brand.  The handle is made of imitation pearl.  The guard, spacers and pommel look an awful lot like it though.  I know for a fact it is at minimum 38 years old.  I thought it was gone forever but I found it in an old bucket at my moms house and it was in terrible shape and I was fortunate to find someone to redo it for me and make it usable again and it turned out great.  Seeing this knife made me think about my own, I had to do a double take.  This one is a bit thinner than mine.  I don't have any pics of it or I'd post it and let you all see the comparison and how close it is.

Does anyone have any info on these knives that are just marked SOLINGEN, Germany?  What's the story of that?
Beautiful knife by the way.

Thanks guys for all the nice comments

this seems like a good little knife, there is a guy that has one with a leather handle. I guess they made them with all kinds of handles.  Hang on to it this time
