Can you use Tru Oil for a finish on wood handles?

I traded some antler for a couple of small knives for my grandkids and think I got the raw end of the deal.  Besides a not very comfortable handles the guy left the wood un-finished saying he thought they would look better.

Hi Jon yes I've used Birchwood & Casey gun stock tru oil on wood and antler handles.Heck I figure if its good enough for a gun its good enough for a knife handle.bd

shape and sand till you like the feel and then use the tru oil, it is great stuff. then if you want to knock the sheen down use the stock  sheen and conditioner.

True Oil is a proven finish for wood handles. You bet. Lin

Thanks for the help.  The knife handle is the same shape as the blade.  Live and learn I guess.  The maker is from another site.  He definately got the better part of the deal.  I will probably try and sell the knives and have someone else make them for me.  They would be their first knives and I want to be satisfied.

Again, thanks
