Got a minor burn last night, a 1900 degree blade will do that fast.
I have on hand, some Silvadine.  It is a white cream for burns, and I believe available by prescription only.
This stuff cuts healing time in half for burns, and anyone playing with fire, or hot blades, needs some on hand.
If you know a nurse or doctor, they will likely give you some if you ask.  If you don't know anyone, then I suggest you ask for some or a prescription next time you go see the doc.  Nice to have on hand when you need it.
Just smear on burn and cover it with bandage.  Much better than the standard antibiotic ointments.  Dan

I have heard of that stuff, but will check into it. Thanks, Lin

Never been burned by 1900 degree steel before.  I always manage to pick up the piece that's juuust lost it's glow and looks harmless but will still burn the snot out of you.  Doesn't take me long to put them back down though.

OconeeDan

Ha, I didn't even know I was burned until I smelled it.  Not bad though.
Ray, your gross.

Stepped on a hunk of charcoal with my barefoot (crushed the coal with my full weight) while smoking a turkey. Turned the arch of my foot into white ash. Dr said it was the worst burn he had ever seen. Prescribed silvadene cream. Healed up and not even a scar! We now carry it in our 1st aid kit in the camper. It is a must for outdoorsman or those who play with hot metal.
