Hey all,

I just found out and seen these Bear Bowhunter Kits.  What a great idea.  Looks like everything you would ever need on a hunt and they look great too.

Naturally I know there aren't going to be that many people that have the actual BEAR Kits since they were stopped many years ago and they are hard to find and expensive today if you can find one.  I am curious to know if there are other "Bowhunter" type "kits" that some have put together themselves or if there are those that carry some of the ready assembled "kits" that are available today like those from Outdoor Edge and Knives of Alaska.

After seeing these original kits I starting thinking about putting a "modern" variety together for myself.  I started checking out possible fixed blades and there are lots of great possibilities out there to make a really nice kit that would serve any hunter for a LONG TIME.

So, what say you?  Anyone have their own kit or thought about making one themselves?  If so, tell about your kit or tell about what knife or other gear you would use to build your "modern" Bowhunter Kit.

Thanks for your time and help.

Here is a couple I have made in the past few years. They come in very handy.

Gun

Here's one I put together a few years ago. First time doing any leather work. I like how it turned out.
Knife is a Puma Trail Guide my brother bought back from Germany years ago. I used a piece of a brow tine from a shed I found for the file handle to match the knife. Instead of a stone I made a pocket on the sheath for my old original Leatherman tool. I usually have a spare knife in my pack.

It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

Gunner,
That's a dandy, I like the Leatherman tool idea.
