Hello everyone.  I have been lurking here for a while now, first post.

First, wow ya'll are some talented folks.  AMAZING.

I am very, very new to knife making.  I want to inlay two elk ivories into the handle of a fixed blade.  Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to do this? Also any pics of similar handles would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I can't give you any insite into your question, but I'd like to say "Welcome" to the best home on the net.

Oh, and I like your handle!

If I understand the question I would guess that you would have to route the area for the inlay with a dremel tool or something and then epoxy the ivory into the relieved area.
'cuz deer huntin' ain't catch & release!

I usually cut off the bottom (root) portion of the tooth so it lays flat . You can do this with either cow or bull teeth...I use a carbide blade in a dremel or flex shaft machine...polish with zam on a felt buff...you can set the tooth in a bed of epoxy or make a bezel out of sterling silver..

Thanks fellas. Will give it a go and let ya know how it works out.
