Do you recognize this knife?  It has an inscription on the blade in some foreign language.  I would try to transcribe the letters but it's very small and I'm not at all sure but it might be Nordic or Baltic possibly.  It took a really, really good edge and is now surgical sharp.  What kind of wood do you think the handle might be?

Looks to me like a knife made from a kit that Atlanta Cutlery used to sell years ago- I believe the blade is Norwegian laminated stainless. I could be wrong

No, it's not stainless that much I do know.

Defintely a curly Birch handle. Looks like a typical Swedish/Scandinavian style scout knife, but I wouldn't like to guess at the manufacturer. There are hundreds of different manufacturers that have offered very similar pattern Scout knives over the years. Most are fairly cheap 'kids' knives, but made to the same standard as the usual Puukos.
