Are necker style knives fair game for the swap? Just curious as that seams to be the first ones I will get done for sure. I also ordered some leather from tandy so I should have sheaths for them too. Skippy

If everyone gets in before the close, there are going to be more knives flying through the air than at a Vaudvile and Circus Knife Thrower's Convention!!!   :jumper:

OK this has been fun and inspiring.  I've enjoyed reading all the posts here and looking at the cool knives.  Sure is some talent in this group.  Since the rules said we can assemble a knife even without making the blade and that stone knives are welcome then I'm getting in too.  Its been about 7 years since I've made a knife.  I like noviculite (that's the rockologist's term for some kind of white flint from Arkansas) cause I can paint on it.  I tried knapping and I do a good job of making little rocks out of big ones but without any real usuable form, so I buy the blades.  My craft is as a painter/artist.  So I paint something on the knife blade.  Then  do something with the handle that fits in with the overall look.  Haven't made any sheaths for these, just a base and some sort of stand.    Usually I do big game critters so this is my first duck on stone.  So I'm done with blade and its kinda OK for being a little rusty.  I hope folks like it.  The blade is 3 1/2 inches X 2 inches.  Now I have to find the right piece of antler or tree roots for the handle and figure our some cool beading pattern to inlay.  This is my first image post.  Here's hoping I got the images right sized and all in phototbucket.  Two pics of each side.  One of the full blade, the other a closeup of the image.
Have Fun

Drew, I'm not finding an email in this electronic contraption.  If you're still at the same address as last year we're all set though.

I have my knife finished, is is o1 steel with a cherry burl handle, and some file work on the spine.  I will try to post some pics if I can remember how.  I did not make a sheath, I have not gotten into leather work yet.  Pics coming soon, Dave Hiltz
