It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

Here is the short version:
I got to the stand about 4:30. I had a perfact wind (NW) and it was a lot cooler than it has been, low 80's vs. high 90's. I had a fawn come in about 6:00 she fed on through and dissappeared. About 7:00 pm I here the familiar steps of a deer coming my way. My heart started to beat, almost out o my chest. Man I love deer hunting...

She fed all around under the stand for about 20 mins. I was waiting for her to give me good broadside shot. I was quickly running out of light, and I started wondering if she would ever get in a good position to give me a shot.

At about 7:25 she gave me what I was looking for. A 12 yard broadside shot. I drew back and the last thing I remember seeing is the white feathers disappear in the rib cage. She ran off and I heard her crash about 40 yards up in a pine thicket.

After the shot I was all tore up. I had to sit in the stand for another 15 mins before I got down. I took me a while to stop shaking. I don't know what will happen if I get a good buck in that close. I may have to spend the night in the stand.  :biglaugh:

I really appreciate all the folks here. You have been a real inspiration to my hunting with the longbow. This is the first year I have hunted exclusively with traditional equipment, and its shaping up to be a great year.
