Hi Chuck, you're right is is quiet!

I was so excited up until now, now I'm in a panic trying to make sure I've got everything together.  :knothead:

Reminds me of getting ready for opening day of bow season. No wonder I like this hunt already.   ;)

I shot 1 of those special washers I made up last night and they fly well stop fast in the grass and rip the snot outta a plastic jug.....they wiegh in @ 20 grains and I,ve got probably 30 of them incase somebodies interested....they have 5 legs .100 wide out to a 7/8 OD and should stop a bunny cold.....

Looks like I need to pack tonight cause I volonteered to help cut up turkeys @ the conservation club for their gun raffle on Sat. Figured that since I won,t make the raffle the least I could do was help out in the kitchen....

Bob,I'll be up and ready by 4 am give me a shout for final plans,I should be home tonight....Fri well I may be awhile before I get home LOL

See yall on Sat......YEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAA

The pallets ya can just cut in half. Cold, cold don't bother us> Tom and I will be sweating bullets even at -10!! I will wear my union suit and my brushpants and a sweatshirt for the hunt. Shooting in the yard, yeah I will be bundled up. By the way another raffle prize showed up, Frank(Sticshooter) sent one of his arrowhead(cocobola) belt buckles, it is very nice!! Thanks Frank!!! I will be putting the final touches on Dads tomorrow and heating the port-a-potty as I do not want to dig out my junk in zero degree weather. This is coming together perfectly,  I will post directions one more time, later this evening. Make sure ya dress in layers because when we begin the hunt, you will be pushing some nasty, nasty stuff and ya do not want to get sweaty and than have to sit on watch and get cold. I hope to be a good host, but I am sicker than a dog at this moment, but I am working on a remedy as we speak, either way I am rareing to go, so the bunnies better look out!! OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn

For all you New,Wannabe,First time,Bunny Hunters!!!!!

Just a few possible suggestions...

Blaze Orange- It is a big help if everyone wears "some" Blaze Orange (or some other bright color) This is not really so much for "safety purposes" as much as to make it easier for the pushers to stay together and in a straight line. If you haven't been there before (LOL) you have NO idea just how thick this cover really is!!!!!

Leather Gloves- A REAL GOOD IDEA!!!!! Your hands are going to take a REAL beating,I've seen more than 1 pair of "Hamburger Paws" at the end of the day!!!!!!!!!!

Shooting/Safety Glasses- Not a bad idea either!!!!! Last year Curt got a NASTY gash in his eyebrow,if it had been an inch lower...  :scared:  His eye filled up with blood and he couldn't see,Shawn had to go in after him  "[heman]"

Just a few ideas that I thought might be helpful

Aha! Thanx for the sugestions. I thought I remembered in one of the pictures everyone wearing that orange stuff. What I have will not take to briars too well. Do you have any recomandations? Also How important is camo with bunnies? Reading about the cold and the brush I thought I'd wear my one one piece Carhart coveralls, but it's black... As you can see by my questions I never hunted bunnies before so I qulify: "New,Wannabe,First time,Bunny Hunter" and proud of it too!

Wapiti Chaser

Tom, I don't think it's ever been as cold as the first bunny hunt at Meathooks. I remember the gas pedal on my truck froze down and to stop I to shift in neutral !!  :scared:  I will pick you up at
4:30 am. I will have my thermos snd gas tank full.
Shawn, Hope you feel better. I'm sure your home remedy will work !! LOL

Trust in what Shawn said about layers. Start off with warm layers, and then you will want to be taking it off as we get going. No matter how cold it is you will warm up. I will be starting off with longjohns with flannel lined brush pants. A teeshirt and sweatshirt and a bowhunting jacket. Before the 2nd push I will be down to the sweatshirt and brush pants. Oh yea most important I think is my small game vest, I can carry my extra clothes I take off and most important my water.. Oh yea if I hit a rabbit I can put it in there to, yeah right.

Aram..... Don't worry about camo, being warm and being seen by everyone is most important.Your coverall will be fine...

Some red, orange ,yellow is very important!! For safety so everyone can see ya when things get hot and heavy. There's gonna be more people than ever.It helps all of us keep track of each other....

Shawn, just click on your name above your avatar, then click on "edit profile",you can then change it.I don't have the power to do that bud.

It's almost here boys.... and girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I get home Friday morning from work...I'm off the entire weekend. Will finish packing the bows, clothing etc...for the "trip up north".
Best part about this get together is seeing old friends and making new ones, sharing ideas, shooting bows, breaking arrows, getting scratched to heck plowing through briars and still knowing I'm only 70 minutes from home.

I hear they are calling for 60 mph winds late Friday into Sat...should make that 80 yd balloon shot very interesting. Get pumped fellas...only one more day!
