Excellent job Tim!  That brown looks like a perftct match with the leather.

By the way, the BBY is 99% done.  I hope to get it in the mail to you either tomorrow or Tuesday.
Dave

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Timo treats me just like Dianne..asks for my opinion then does just the opposite    :saywhat:

Good thing too...the brown is PERFECT!

Nice job Timo      :notworthy:  that is some special bow!

I am sure looking forward to seeing this stick in the flesh. It left here as a stave and is going full circle, touched by so many artful craftsmen! The carp skin back looks like a million $ Timo.

Better start ordering some wild leathers for handle choices. Care to rule out, ooops I mean suggest any Mickey? The brown wrap does look real nice.

the Ferret

I ALWAY love tanned elkskin for handles and you can get it in brown or yellow    :bigsmyl:

but feel free to ignore that Shaun.

Hey man this all started with your stave!   :notworthy:

Bigriver, you should be getting an envelope in the mail any day now with the rest and shelf leathers.  If you have something else you like better, feel free to use it, you won't hurt my feelings any.

Terry, you have an envelope headed your way too.

Daaaaaaaang Timo....you certainly got the skin process down. Looks fantastic. So, you think the earth would stop rotation if I fish skinned a glass bow?   :bigsmyl:

Timo

JC, I think it would work fine, just needs to have a lighter colored wood underneath.

I was wrong, bow came today. Mailguy put it in the dog kennel? Good thing I had no dog in there.

I have done a little fine sanding & have decided to do clear on the finish. I think with the leather overlays & the super glue combined with the brown wrap it will look a little busy if I stain up to the wraps. Hope it`s ok . My sealer will give it more amber cast & will warm it up & show off that osage glow. I feel I`m cheating a little with the hard work already done, but I hope it helps the cause. She`ll be purty for sure. Nice work to all. Pics will follow the process, but be warned, watching a finisher work is akin to watching paint dry  :bigsmyl:

Here is the bow so far. I have the areas above the wrap stained & sealed. I need some input. Do you all like it with the contrast of the natural osage around the handle, or should I make it all look the same amber color. I basically dyed my tung oil sealer with analine dye to give the osage an antique look. I will wait to proceed with the finish until I get some feedback. Just an fyi the pics dont show how the stain really looks. It is really cool, honest. I am not sold on my camera. Thanks to my assistant/ daughter, Nicole, the bow holder.
