Here's a doe I took yesterday afternoon - 52 lb. Black Widow recurve, Snuffer 160 broadhead. Ten yard shot hit high in the shoulder angling down into the goodies. She went about 40 yards.

Wary Buck

Antlerless tag No. 2 filled Dec. 4 along the Platte River in Dodge Co. 9 yd. heart/lung shot (barely, just a hair low and left of where I wanted to be), Pronghorn longbow, Woodsman head, Sitka Gear. My first three deer have been shared by six fellow teachers.

But remind me not to kill does on weekday evenings next time.  I knew that, but this one was too big to pass up.

Nice shot Bryce! Still no snow for you guys? Getting down to about 12 degrees for us tonight.

Wary Buck

We've had two snows, both less than an inch, and they both lasted about 36-48 hours before melting off.  There's talk of some more maybe tonight/tomorrow.  Hopefully tonight because that could mean a SNOW DAY (no school) and then I could get back out there.

We had exactly ONE DAY of snow all last year in eastern Nebraska during bow season.  And it was Dec. 31--the last day of the season.  Would've felt guilty not hunting the last day of the season, so went out and stalked and killed a doe at last light in a picked bean field (okay, there was a waterway/cane strip down the middle that I used as cover) wearing snow camo.  Killing does can be as exciting as you want to make it!

Hey Andy, thanks. that hog on your profile is quite a specimen. I was out for a week and it was an awesome adventure.
I ended up with a good size list made up of both things I should have left at home and things that I should have brought.  I had wonderful camp sites, caught trout for supper, & made some wonderful new friends that made my trip a lot less hardcore by giving me GREAT food.
I climbed up 15' into live oak tree and shot the hog while straddling a limb in a yoga position. And lured them to my tree by smaking bits of bark on the palmettos around my tree. They eventually couldnt resist it.
(who needs a treestand right?)
bryce... I just read your article in TBM, good job!
