This doe came in really late yesterday afternoon, 7:53 to be exact. Gave me a shot at 10 yds. It was dark enough that I didn't know if it was a buck or doe. Couldn't see my arrow in flight, but the shot felt good. She ran off about 20 yds. and stopped. After she stands there for about 5-10 seconds, I'm thinking "Did I miss that deer?" After 20 seconds, I'm sure that I missed her. Then, all of a sudden, she bolts and makes it about 10 more yards before she goes down. I'm convinced she never knew what hit her.

Thanks guys hope to post again soon with an osage-whitetail connection.

Wendell, it's a strap on Great Northern Quiver that holds 5 arrows and is held on by rubber straps with several holes to fit any size limb.
Love it!!!   :D

No Don, this time I was using an Interceptor with an experimental single-bevel grind.  Not too much to report on it as I didn't hit much bone.  Only about 3/4 of a rib going in.  I did notice a slight "S" shape to the cut in the rib.  Here's a pic of the head:

Here's my first of this year, and a fine way to start! I was using a snakey piece of black locust I tillered out to 62# at 27", 66" long, backed with timber rattler. I call her "Big Medicine".

By far my best day of shooting, and I hope to do so well this weekend on a little bigger game....

Alsea

Cervus canadensis roosevelti

Local critter, shot him about 2 miles from the house.

DAS riser, W&W carbon/maple limbs, 60", 55#@28, 410 grn arrow, 125 grn Muzzy Phantom 4 blade, 31 yards, pass through, heard him crash. Hunted solo, 18 days, afternoons until dark, shot him at 6:08 PM Sept. 11, '07

Interesting rack, I will do a European mount.

Typical Roosie, huge body, smallish rack...he's four or five years old, going by his teeth...oh yeah, can you say dee-lish-ous????   :)

Danny Rowan

Wow, seasons are really starting to heat up, great job all. Wish the rain would stop here so I could go chase some pigs or Sambar deer.

Here's my first deer with the longbow. Shot her last Wednesday Sept 5. Used a Dwyer 56# @28 64" long. With a GT 3555 traditional arrow tipped with a 160 grain land shark. I shot her at 23 yards, back of the lungs she only ran about 60 yards before she piled up. It was a fun day!
