This is a unique place I call the dying field. For some reason the area holds many skeletal remains of various species. There are three skulls in the picture   . Cow skull in the center. Note the mud on the V in the trees from hogs. CK

Desert Rat

Here's a shot from my mule deer hunt this year near June Lake, CA.  End of August, hot, and thin air. Awesome place. Saw a few deer but no shots.

Hooked

Nice doe and her young'un came by (this is the young'un)

Little buck walked around a bit

Young'un looked plenty old enough to get by on her own, so put this nice doe in the freezer

Some of the scenic shots that you folks posted are great. Unless you have a deep love and appriciation for what you are looking at, you couldn't capture it in a photo, but you did.

God must be the greatest artist ever, because when he laid his brush on this canvas called earth, he created a masterpiece. Thank you all for sharing and showing your love and gratitude for his handi work.

Nightstalker ,
my camera can't give you the true sence of what i saw yeaterday . i live on the St. John river in New Brunswick . where i live the river is damed 20 miles down stream and has flooded 40 miles up stream .where the pics are taken it is over 1 mile across . Oct 10 has always been the day that the colors are the brighest .the pics don't show how vivid the oranges and reds really are . very hard to hunt as i am to busy looking around .
today it is Thanksgiving here in Canada and you can see why we have at this time of year . can only say thank you to the CREATOR FOR THE SPLENDOR  ---herb

i recently spent a couple of days on stand with a fine tradganger,Lee Satterfield,in South Carolina,in pursuit of feral hogs, the hogs didnt cooperate but i had a great time.......
saw some stuff an ol ky boy doesnt get to see,the hunting is different in a flooded swamp compared to the hilly hardwoods around here, anyway here is what flew in one morning about a half hour after sunrise.........he was very curious,i thought as i made a move for the camera he would be gone, but he just watched every move i made.......
very nice unexpected guest!

A view from my Saturday afternoon log jam in a Cohutta bottom.  I'm guarding that freshly hit white oak.  If I'd only been in there at daylight.....
