I ask prayers for my son, a veteran of three Iraq tours of duty.  He was due to begin a 2 year stint as a drill Sgt. stateside at the end of this month, which due to his age, would likely have marked the end of his combat deployments.  Last week his unit got "wait listed", which means everything is on hold.  He knows Afghanistan could be his next assignment and isn't too happy about it.

With the lack of committment our Administration now has to seemingly win armed combat, I feel for your son's consternation, Richard.

My prayers that he and his unit will be protected by God's own hand regardless of outcome.

Keep the Son in your eyes, Richard.  Prayers up!
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Sounds like he is a fighter both on and off the battle field.

My prayers he will be safe protecting me and my family.

When you have a chance thank him for his service for me.

Prayers.
Relax,

You'll live longer!

Prayers sent I know what is going on in you sons and well as your lives. My son just retired fathers day from 23 years in the Army with more than a few combat tours...
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!
