I moved away from my home town, only to return after many years.  As I got re aquanted with old friends I also became aquainted with their children.

I won't use last Names but One of these kids became interested in my choice of Traditional archery equipment.  I built him a custom takedown recurve and he helped with the process.

He proudly took it deer hunting the very next fall and shot a young buck with it.  His name is John and he was raised to be an outdoorsman by his father.

Today he is a Marine in Afghanistan.  He is part of a special group of Marines that search for bombs with dogs. He puts his life on the line every day to keep fellow troops and locals safe from roadside bombs.

His dad tells me that he and his dog have found numerous bombs.  The scary part is that who ever set those bombs is probably watching.

There are lots of stories about our young men at war...........................This one just hits real close to home...............

Please say a prayer for John's safe return and for the return of all of our fine young men and women.

I have a young man from our church there, too. Went into the Marines out of high school. He's a corporal in the 3/5.

I'll include John in my prayers for Clint. Sounds like they have a lot in common.
