I feel wierd asking this prayer, but heregoes.
I would like to ask for prayer for my knees and shoulder which give me slight pain when I run. I think with some professional help and some specific training this can be fixed or at least not as bad, but there's nothing as good as prayer.
The reason being I plan on joining the USMC in a little bit here and I don't want joint pain when my life involves lots of running.
I know that joining feels like the right thing to do, and I want to do it. But without joint pain.

Thanks
Zack

Prayers for His will in your health and His will in your choice.

And thank you for wanting to honor your country in this difficult time.

Zach,

Just a thought: Reflecing on you in prayer this AM and thought, "Gee, this man must be young enough to enlist, so why the pain at this young age?"

Given your location, and being outdoors oriented, have you been checked for Lyme??

Sure enough is one of the gnarly hidden symptoms of that miserable malaise... mimics so much else!

At my decrepit age, I know Art Ritis well, but often used to suspect Lyme, but they tell me not.

Prayers continue.

Thanks for the prayers guys.
Doc, I have loose knee caps and a bad, overused shoulder. I think these can be fixed with workouts and such, I'm seeing a Doc today about it. Other minor pains elsewhere, so I might get checked for Lyme too.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Hang in there. Good luck witht he docs and pay attention to their suggestions. Not always tell us what we want to hear, but hopefully what we need to know to make good choices.

From what the doc said it sounds like everything can be fixed with workouts, healing and time. If I enlist at the beginning of may then I won't leave for basic till next Feb., because the Marine Corps is full. So I have plenty of time to work out.
He said that the cartilage between my knee cap and knee joint is soft and irritated, so any running or strain hurts. There are good days and bad days. He said that it sometimes clears up on it's own but physical therapy will help.
The back of my right shoulder is weak and I get too much movement in it, that's what causes the pain and pinching. He also said that with specific workouts it should get better.

Thanks again for your prayers guys, it means a lot. I'm confident in my decision to join the Corps.

I guess you know what you need to do and to do it under guidance so you don't step over that line between builidng strength and repair and doing further damage and irritation.

Good luck finding a good PT to help you through that transition.  Know when to say when!  :)

Keep the Son in your eyes and best wishes!
