Thanks folks! It's really nice to know that other people like the work you do. Kinda a self affirmation thing   :D

Matt, it's called a Rifleman's Knife because it's styled after the wad cutting/self defense knives, famously carried by the Colonial Frontier Fighters of the 18th Century.

Nice work. What weight of leather is the sheath made out of?
Isaiah 49:2...he made me a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

robtattoo

It's around 1/8" (don't know what weight that'd be, 7.5 or 8oz at a guess)

Not to hijack this thread or anything, but I have been wondering something that maybe you can give a quick explanation on. How do you get the leather formed to the knife like that? Do you just put the knife in the sheath when it is wet and then somehow clamp it down until it is dry?

Oh and by the way, that is very awsome looking knife and sheath. If it needs an owner, I would be honored to take it off your hands.

robtattoo

That is SO my thing  :D

The wife 'n' I are looking at Property in NC/VA as we speak. Hoping to be there in the next 2 years. The only thing holding us back is one of our dogs. She's 14 & the travelling would probably kill her. We wouldn't dream of re-homing her, but we daren't put her on a plane. She's totally blind, but otherwise fit & healthy, but has panic attacks when she get's stressed.
The other two are coming wth us!

You might check Northeast Texas. Land values are good and fairly low taxes. There are several of us that would welcome you here so we can see your knives upclose and personal.LOL Lots of deer and hogs around there.
