Who still hunts with Bodkin broadheads?
Bill

Blackhawk

Sorry, but I do not think too highly of them, however, they do come in handy for small game since they can be found so cheap.

I am not so adept at blade sharpening and find these things quite a challenge.  I have quite a few, but I would never put one in the quiver for hunting big game.

IMO they cannot be sharpened to the same degree as better made BH's. Where the metal seams come together will always create a small space that will interfere with getting them shaving sharp.

Just curious if any one still uses them.If I recal they are either the second or third oldest broadhead company. Is that correct?

I have a friend that still uses the small three blade models. Those can be sharpened better than the large one. They work fine if it is a well placed shot. The tips have a tendency to bend if you hit bone and penetration is not the best. On a heart lung shot they are fine but no comparison to the heads available today.

Gun

I use them for Rabbits. Nothing larger.
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

Same here. Small game only. Strong head, but difficult, if not impossible, to get a shaving edge on.

Cyclic-Rivers

I have 3, will probably use them for small game.

I have several large and small .. they are alittle hard to get sharp but for turkey and small game they work just fine.

Orion

Killed a turkey with one a few years ago, but use them mostly for squirrels and rabbits.
