Congrats on the traditional kill with your A handle. I followed your thread on this handle from the beginning but did not realize until this last post that my type one B handle has the same serial number as yours 1490. I have been hunting with this bow also. I received the bow from Judd Cooney (outdoor writer and photographer). Fred Bear had given him this bow. We are both lucky to have these special bows. Good job!

Terry,
Great job!! No feeling in the world like taking a nice animal with a vintage Bear bow, especially one of Fred's favorite bows.Congratulations!!!  :clapper:

Congrats on your doe with that nice A handle. I am sure not you feel it was worth the money, and that bow will not go anywhere.

Marc B.

Congrats on your doe. My goal for this year is to take a deer with a vintage Bear and cedar arrow. Its great to see these bows still getting it done    :clapper:

Thanks guys - I really do feel blessed to have had the opportunity to hunt with this special bow. Unasked - my wife snapped this picture when I first knelt by this doe - I was taught when very young to give thanks when taking any animal - the feeling at the time always makes it easy to do so.

Thanks Philip - the only thing that makes me a bit nervous (like Sam Stephens said in his Bear TD Help post) is that I've now got the bug Bear TD REAL BAD...

I recently talked Sam out of one of his Type 1 B Risers - So its got ahold of me good now    :bigsmyl:

From what I've seen and read in your posts - I'm guessing you understand if anyone does!

I'll post pictures of the B when I get a chance - I'll be hunting with it for the rest of the season here in MN.

Their wonderful bows and you will enjoy them Terry.
Interesting enough, I sold Sam his first Bear take down.
He's a great person and a very passionate bowhunter as we have all seen.
Enjoy your new acquisitions!
It's all downhill from here my friend.
I have not heard of a cure yet for Bear collectors.
BTW,
If interested, I listed some awesome signed pics in the traditional books, media classifieds.

I am looking for an A handle takedown if anyone has a lead I would appreciate a PM. Thank you. Have a great day.
There's something about holding a longbow in your hand!
