My neighbor has this bow.  It is in very good condition.  I may be able to post a few pics but it's been a while since I've done this.  Let me know if there is an estimated value/market for this.

It has some patent info, as well as patent pending.  Bear archery, Grayling, MI, but then says Canada 1952.  It also has the bronze medallion on the side of the riser.

Let me know.

Thanks, Doug

Doug, it sounds like a '59 Kodiak with the copper coin but we'd need to see pictures to be sure. No way to ascertain value without knowing length, weight, condition, etc. Show us some good close ups and we'll guess.

The Super Kodiaks came out in 1967. The 1953 Canadian patent and flush coin were used up until mid 1972. No stabilizer bushing in the riser 1970 or before. Serial number starting with 7-67, 8-68, 9-69. Stabilizer bushing and silkscreen on back 71. Stabilizer bushing and silkscreen on belly 72.

The 67-69 usually bring the best prices.

So far, the super Kodiaks always have a market. The value depends on the buyer, and so far, the buyers like Bear Kodiaks.
