I picked up an old Bear Alaskan, I am wondering if anyone here can help me date it.
The number on it is RF17090.

Any info on this bow would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jon

Some pictures would help but someone could tell you more with a little more info. AMO length, glass color, dual shelf or single?

Sorta like...I have a Ford pick up, model F150,what can you tell me about it?

I can get pics.. I assumed the serial number would be similar to a vin number on said ford truck.

62" amo. Not a dual shelf. White glass..

The Alaskan semi recurve 1958-61 were 62" AMO. The 58-60 were dual shelf and the 61 single shelf. I'm not certain of the glass color of a 61 as I have never owned one. The Alaskan were re-introduced as a full recurve in 1966-70. The 69 and 70 model were 62" AMO.

Probably is a 1961, the catalog doesn't specify glass color. Some bows were made with random glass colors. What kind of wood is it?

Ron, The F-150 debuted for 1975. A half-ton pickup, the F-150 filled the gap between the F-100 and F-250 as it was a bit more "heavy duty" than an F-100 though considerably less so than the F-250. The F-150 was changed in 1984 from the F-100     :p

The Bow is another question....don't know. Have a good day and remember put your Bow in the back of a Ford....Hink     ;)

Hope to see you in June     :)
