Ebony is nice but,imo,African Blackwood looks as good and is much less likely to develop cracks compared to Gaboon Ebony.
Macassar Ebony is really nice though.
Here's my Trails End with African Blackwood riser and Bloodwood accent lines.

Ebony never found a higher or better use. Beauties, all!

Here's my new Big Five Howard Hill, 48# @28" 66" long Ebony riser, wine split leather grip laced and black glass both sides. A real nice shooter can't wait to get it out in the deer woods next fall.
